Jay Mahan’s journey into entrepreneurship began with building maintenance at a mental health facility. Over time, his path shifted toward something he found much more fulfilling—home remodeling. “I love creating spaces that bring comfort and reflect each client’s vision,” Jay says. Derrick Jones started Grow-4-It Home Solutions by blending two passions: outdoor work and smart home technology. He saw a clear need in the market. No one was offering both lawn care and smart home services as a single, streamlined solution. What began with mowing yards and setting up security cameras quickly evolved into a trusted business helping homeowners improve the look, functionality, and safety of their homes.

Elizabeth Metcalf began her professional path studying medicine at the University of Washington. Health issues in her younger years shifted her course, but rather than give up on her desire to help others, she found a new way forward. She picked up skills in tile work, drywall, millwork, painting, and more, discovering a natural talent and passion for hands-on work. Construction became her outlet, her purpose, and eventually her career.
